Project Outline:

To capture vibration and shock data associated with the Wolfhound vehicle and to produce environment descriptions and test severities in support of safety and suitability for service (S3) trials and assessment and to support an appraisal of human factors.

Project Description:

Cranfield Aerospace successfully carried out a comprehensive data gathering trial and subsequent assessment of munitions associated with the Wolfhound Tactical Support Vehicle. The data gathering trial consisted of four configurations, capturing data associated with both Javelin and 105 mm ammunition. The subsequent analysis assessed the vibration and shock environments as well as the human factors.

As a direct consequence of this package of work an innovative piece of software was developed that significantly reduced time take to analyses large quantities of shock data and increasing the intellectual added value. The software was demonstrated at the shock and vibration symposium in New Orleans in October 2012.
