To capture vibration and shock data associated with the use of the Scimitar 2 CVR(T) vehicle and to address aspects relating to the vehicle, deployed munitions and human factors.
In support of an urgent operational requirement, Cranfield Aerospace carried out data gathering trials during trundling runs and live firing at Bovington and Lulworth respectively. The trial, carried out over the period of six consecutive days, captured data from two configurations over three varying surfaces. The data and subsequent analysis provided the required evidence to supporting lifing of munitions carried within Scimitar Mk2 CVR (T). This allowed munitions to be carried for extended periods of time within the vehicle without need for disposal, increasing operational effectiveness and decreasing costs.
